I joined the WDBO team in 2004, right after the parade of hurricanes came through town. But in my time here, I've made up for that: I've hydroplaned on flooded roads to Key West in the middle of the night as Hurricane Rita approached, had my finger smashed in a hotel door during Hurricane Rita in Naples, and made 3 sleepless treks through Mississippi and New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina.
But it's the everyday stories right in our own backyards that I thrive on. My reporting has broken stories of cities trying to force small businesses out to make way for development, exposed politicians abusing their power and wasting taxpayer money, and shed light on major policy debates.
My work has led to over a dozen awards, including most notably the Associated Press Award for Investigative Reporting and another for Individual Achievement, and an Edward R. Murrow Award for Breaking News Reporting.
I came to Orlando from Raleigh, North Carolina where I anchored the morning news and sports, and covered ACC basketball and football games.
Outside the newsroom you can find me playing with my dog, Bruiser, strumming the guitar, or hanging out with my (soon to be) wife Heather.
