Teens Talk About Texting While Driving Habits

We told you troopers say they're seeing more and more people text messaging while driving, labeling it a dangerous distraction.

WDBO's Elizabeth Arenas wanted to hear what some young people thought about it.

"You can get in a bad car accident by texting because you are not paying attention to the road."

But that 18 year-old girl says she's guilty of it and isn't alone on that one.

"My best friend she always texts and never looks at the road and almost gets in a car accident almost everytime."

Others like 17 year-old Emma Fischer say, they don't text while driving but understand the urge to want to respond to people.

"It's like an immediate reaction to grab it and look."

I also spoke to a parent.

"I think that the kids these days who do it a lot want to respond immediately to it. But they should be taught not to do it and there should be laws against doing it."
