I don't have a problem with students watching this movie, if they are taught to think about what they are watching. I agree with other comments here that we need to teach our kids how to think more critically and use deductive reasoning more. Although I don't necessarily agree with Al Gore's movie, I think that it may be a useful tool to help our kids think about the world in which we live and the effects of our consumerism. I also think another movie that could possibly be shown to high school students is Ben Stein's movie, Expelled, which talks about intelligent design versus evolution. Again, lets teach our kids how to critically think about the world around them and not accept everything at face value.
