Frank Samandari graduated from Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vermont, in 2000. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree, and an Associate of Science degree in Communication Arts and Sciences. Frank began his news career reporting and producing television news in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, then served as Assistant News Director for five radio stations in Southern Ohio. Frank has also been employed as a Newspaper Journalist, Public Information Officer, Television News Producer in Orlando, and has been with WDBO since November of 2003.
Frank started with WDBO as a weekend anchor. He was then promoted to full-time, weekdays, where his day is now split between reporting and producing the afternoon news, as well as managing the local news website for WDBO.
Frank received the Associated Press Award for Excellence in Broadcasting: Investigative Reporting, for his MySpace.com Investigation. Additionally, Frank produces a weekly segment entitled "Soldier Stories," featuring interviews from Iraq, with the men and women serving our country.
When not at the station, Frank enjoys playing guitar and tuba, reading, creative writing, and spending time with family in Fort Lauderdale and DeLand.
Frank is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and the International Thespian Society. Additionally, Frank is heavily involved in church and community.
