WDBO News Reporter
Bob Hazen comes to WDBO from Raleigh, North Carolina, where they have a motto: "esse quam videri." That's Latin for "to be, rather than to seem," and it's the same ideal he brings to the newsroom. You know from watching tv news, or listening to OTHER news radio, that most of the job is spent on smoke and mirrors. That's not WDBO's way, and that's one reason Bob decided to leave his native land for Florida. The other 2 reasons are alligators and Jai Alai. Always go with a perfecta on Alejandro and Barronio. Bob was educated at the University of Virginia, then started his news life in Raleigh on the assignment desk of WRAL-TV. From there, he worked a gig anchoring at the North Carolina News Network, followed by his real break at 680-WPTF, where he made his way from anchoring the dark and dingy overnights to the still dark, but less dingy morning drive. He also did sports, earning him the contempt of every college basketball fan on Tobacco Road.
