"America's Heroes Triumph and Inspiration" focuses on the dedication and rehabilitation at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The program tells the stories of Sergeant Christian Bagge a double amputee, who is running on a track, training for a future marathon and of Corporal Aaron Mankin, who is having his face rebuilt after a roadside bomb destroyed it.
These and many more are told in "America's Heroes Triumph and Inspiration."
About Senator Fred Thompson
A practicing attorney, Fred Thompson has been a figure on the national political stage since the 1970s when he served as minority counsel to the Senate Select Committee on Presidential Campaign Activities ("Watergate Committee") from 1973-1974. He was later elected as a Republican to the United States Senate from Tennessee in the November 8, 1994, special election to fill the unexpired portion of the term ending January 3, 1997, left vacant by the resignation of Albert Gore, Jr. Thompson served in the Senate until 2003. |
Senator Thompson began his motion picture career in 1985 and has appeared in numerous television episodes and motion pictures, including The Hunt for Red October (1990), Cape Fear (1991) and In the Line of Fire (1993). Thompson is noted for his portrayals of authoritative characters. Thompson holds a B.A. from Memphis State University and a J.D. degree from Vanderbilt University 1967.
