RAPTOR BENCH KILLING US
Stop the Raptor bench, you win game four and go up three games to one, Magic!
Magic fans, the good news is that we still lead this series 2 games to one, we have home court advantage and we have Dwight Howard.
Here's some of the not so good news...You can make a case that, of the 12 quarters in this series so far, the Orlando Magic have outplayed in nine of them.
Yes, our Magic need to stop shootin' blanks. After hitting on 9 of their first 11 three's in the first quarter of game one, Orlando has gone a frigid 11-75 from beyond the arc in this series. The Magic went just 6-27 for 22 percent from three point range in Thursday night's game three.
Live by the three...die by the three. We died Thursday night!
Sure, the poor outside shooting has something to do with the momentum of this series shifting. But, to me, the most important factor is the fact that we just cannot stop the Toronto Raptors defensively.
In the first quarter of games one and two, the Raptors, quite frankly, stopped themselves. Sure, we had something to do with it, but Toronto's big lineup just didn't float. Minus those two quarters, we have not been able to contain Toronto's high powered offense.
Their pick and roll game is a killer, the best in the league this side of Phoenix. Yes, TJ Ford rolled all over us in game three. Bosh is gonna get his.
But the difference, to me in this series so far, and if we're not careful, the rest of the way, has been the Toronto bench.
Raptor reserves have outscored the Magic's bench 128-59. The raptor bench is averaging nearly 43 points per game. Now, with Toronto going small, we must stop Calderon and Kapono...before it's too late.
